Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/19/2014

Number: 1

I glanced, momentarily, out the door while doing housework. I couldn't believe my eyes; the, I think, largest Monarch butterfly I have ever seen????

We are so disappointed. We have all our jars ready, have LOTS of Butterfly Weed, and check constantly for eggs. Not even one. Guess it's time to put a few of the jars away.

The way my daughter and I make a positively sure identification between Queenies and Monarchs is how they fly. A Monarch just kindda "floats" along while, other butterflies flap their wings more. Of course, that's not the only way but, to us, the fastest.
