Number: 1

I was out for my morning walk at 5am today when I noticed many small birds were chirping and flitting about - very unusual for this early in the morning. as I walked I noticed the birds were following me or so it seemed. After watching and listening, I discovered I was witnessing a migration of finches - and there were thousands of them - like bugs in the sky. I could see them zoom in and out of the street lights, flying from tree to tree en masse. For a good 1/2 mile the stream of birds never ended, even after I returned home after my hour hike, they were still flying by my window. Very cool, I only wish it was a little lighter outside for a video. I have witnessed gold finches flying in large groups from tree to tree, but both times it was around Easter in the Spring. never so many as today.
