Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/22/2014

Number: 20

My Hummer families are all feeding seriously now from my 8 feeders, gearing up for migration. I have only about 20 this year, down from the 40+ most other years. (I fill four, 32oz feeders every day.) In years past most leave at the end of August on a strong warm wind from the north, with one or two staying behind until Oct. All my hummers are Ruby_Throated but this year I had one very different, much larger and tan. All of my regulars flew off when this one came in, but only stayed a short time and was not identified or came again. Love my Babies!
