We released a male and a female monarch that hatched in the morning. We had found them as caterpillars a few weeks ago on some milk weed and took care of them. They were in their chrysalises for 12 days. After being released around 2:00pm, the female hung onto our house for about 1/2 hour, while the male hung their for about two hours.
