I did not think that I would be graced by the presence of monarchs this year since my milkweed came in very late. I was truly pleased to see them lay their eggs, eat of the milkweeds with appetite, become big almost 3 inches long and cocoone on the lower ledge on my house and the other under the spout of my water can. I feel like an expectant mother watching them transform. It is a true mystery and a blessing to witness such beauty.
