Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/01/2014

Number: 1

John and I have spotted 4 adult monarchs on the milkweed this year. Beginning the first of August we spotted one cat, it was about 1/4 inch long. Soon we found 7 more. They grew fat and have now entered the chrysalis stage. We have one on a honeysuckle bush beside the house--she has been there a week. It was quite interesting to take pictures of her in the j position. That week was cold and rainy here--we were worried that she would not survive. Last Monday she had entered the pupa stage. She was in the j position for a couple of days. We understand that this stage takes about 2 weeks. I hope that she has as much fun soon as we have had watching her development. John and Sharon
