Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/23/2014

Number: 12

Adult Monarch sightings, some were mating, females seemed sluggish and fading in color. I don't think these are fourth generation monarch's yet, but maybe their 3G parents who are laying eggs now. Problem is I found no caterpillars on any of our milkweed which is abundant. Typically, the migration begins over our Fire Island home mid September to early october.
