Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 08/25/2014

Number: 4

Yesterday, we had some good weather so I went out to tag. I tagged one monarch that was in good condition but left the weathered ones alone. I tried to tag a female monarch but she got away. She went high into the sky and flew directly south. It is the proof I've been looking for- The Great Migration has begun! I hope the weather gets nicer so I can tag more before my vacation. There are about four or five monarchs in the neighborhood right now. The old weathered monarchs are starting to get replaced by the migratory generation.
