I observed 16 monarchs of which 9 were tagged the week of August 18 (beginning of directional flight) to August 24 in the city of Harrisville or on the beach at Harrisville State Park. The week was cloudy and temperatures cool (68-74F. for highs, low upper 40's-mid 50's, and winds generally East. Last year at this same time period only one was seen.
