Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/26/2014

Number: 1

The overall situation is better than last year but the number of adults is small and this includes the places where I have tagged Monarchs in the past during the last two weeks in August. In good years we have tagged as many as 200. So far we have tagged three this year and we have seen another 5 or 6 on the wing. We have found many late instars and a few eggs. It seems as though in about two weeks a large number of adults will be eclosing.
