Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 08/28/2014

Number: 8

We still have at least 3 of the 4 adult males we've seen here. All four are still guarding the feeders and swooping down on any others who come along. We have 6 feeders out and the 3 in the back yard are close. There are literally 3 adult males still guarding each one. In fact, one male scares off fly-bys to ANY of the 3 feeders. I don't know if any of ours have left yet. We have less numbers over the past 2 years. Normally we have 3-4 dozen and the past 2 yrs have only counted about 2 dozen. The fledging was good this year with at least 10-12 young that we saw. Can you find 7 in the photo?
