Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/28/2014

Number: 12

There are many white throated hummers coming to the five feeders we have in our yard. The adult males have been gone for several days and the white throats have more time to feed....and also practice chasing each other. We saw a likely new migrant arrive. Apparently unfamiliar with our hummer feeders, it first tried accessing the nectar from an opening near the hook on the top of the feeder. Eventually it sat on the ring perch of the feeder and found the holes to access the food.
