Sighted 1 male ruby throated hummingbird. Thursday was a Sunny day, time approx 11am. Feeding from circular red liquid feeder. Yesterday, 08/27/14, saw male and female fighting over 2 circular red liguid feeders, same location. Every day we see Downy Woodpeckers also feeding from these two feeders, as well as from two suet cakes, 1 orange flavor and another berry flavor and then there is a cage for suet that I pack full of unshelled peanuts that the Downy Woodpeckers, Flickers, Bluejays, and Tufted Titmouse love to peck the peanuts out of!! We have so many different kinds of birds on this trio of suet and peanuts .. the list is very long .. love it! I have to refill all of them every day. I also have several other hanging feeders filled with just black oil sunflower seeds, plus two hanging plastic cylinders for Gold Finches that many other birds use also. My backyard is like a landing zone for all these birds having a ball .. !! It's so much fun to watch daily .. and the chipmunks and squirrels climb the trees to get to the feeders. I never knew chipmunks climb trees! We also help out the turkeys and deer across the way in the woods .. there are now so many (in a no hunting zone) that they just don't have enough food to manage.
