Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 08/27/2014

Number: 20

In the last week my hummingbirds have been decreasing. I saw one adult male about two days ago. I went from 5 cups of syrup a day to about 2 cups. I have estimated throughout July and early August (1st 2 weeks) that there were approximately 80 to 100 hummingbirds at all times. I have 20 feeding stations and all are washed and filled every day, sometimes twice. The numbers are hard to judge. But I am guessing that the last few days I am seeing about 20 to 25. All young male or females..it seems about the same pattern as last year. It seems like the numbers dwindled a little earlier than last year. I will be more careful to record dates to compare with next summer.
