Released 1 male monarch butterfly (named Joe) that eclosed on 08/27. Was hand reared from an egg laid on swamp milkweed in my yard, collected 07/27. Was tested for OE parasite prior to release for Monarch Health Project. Was not tagged for Monarch Watch b/c it is not yet peak migration for my latitude.

Was slightly below 60 degrees F this a.m. on release, so he was resting on vegetation until the sun gets higher.
