For the first year we have a hummingbird feeder, and I've been making the uncolored sugar water for them. We had a nesting pair (and one lone male who was scared off early in the summer). Now we have the female and babies - hard to count, but I think there may be up to 4 offspring. They are eating heartily, not only at the feeder, but also at the bee balm in the garden. The offspring are beginning to eat from the feeder without having to perch, but they still prefer perching.
