I've been actively looking on our 7km forest/wilderness road for two years and had observed no larvae or butterflies. We have significant milkweed this year as the road shoulders were not mowed last year. This year I have been more aggressive in my efforts and have located two larvae in one location. I have brought them under my care to raise, tag and release.
