We are at a small field of milkweed where 2 years ago all were in full bloom and we saw several dozen monarchs feeding. This year none of the milkweed was in bloom and we saw only one Monarch flying around the plants. The plants didn't look healthy, and I'm curious if the absence of monarchs in this field last year (the owners reported seeing only one last year) could have anything to do with that?
