Last year I never saw any monarchs this far north, so I've been very anxious. Today in the afternoon sun I saw a healthy monarch feeding on purple cone flowers. She was opening and closing her wings as she ate. There was milkweed within a few feet so I will be watching for eggs and larva. So relieved.
