Our numbers have increased over the last few days to ~40. Good mix of males, females, and young. A few appear to be not Rubies but possibly Broad-tailed. Our peak time is just starting on Lake Conroe. Five years ago we stayed near Abiquiu, New Mexico http://www.vrbo.com/8197. We observed lots of Black-chinned, Rufous and Broad-tailed even though it was near the end of their migration season. We hung several feeders and Joy managed to get some to perch on her finger. It was a big deal for her. It's never worked at our house. The image is from 9/10/09 in northern New Mexico.
