There were 50+ adult male and female hummingbirds as well as hatch year all over my backyard this morning while we received a brief shower. They did their usual fighting over feeders and flowers, and as soon as the rain let up, most of them disappeared. There are probably 10-15 still resting, chasing insects, and nectaring this afternoon. I have one female who has been in the yard for over a week who has finally given up trying to rule all the feeders. My birds that had been here since spring left about 2 weeks ago.
