at the end of august I spotted up to 15 larvae on milkweed around my garage. on the 2nd of September I now have 7 chrysalis's 2 larvae hanging in j and one in position on wall. had 1 butterfly leave chrysalis today. also I spotted 2 larvae still eating on milkweed. I have found chrysalis's on basil, parsley. mums, siding. concrete wall. brick wall, joe pye weed, hydrangea, butterfly bush and calla lily leave. it almost seems that the end of august was the signal to get moving. why does it seem that larvae travel s/w to wall on porch {30 feet} to pupate?
