As I was teaching some 5th graders at Edgewood Intermediate School in the outdoor lab, a monarch fly over us, high in the sky heading south. As I pulled out of the school parking lot, 2 hours later, another monarch was gliding over, dipped low over the asphalt and then back up. Again going south. Much later in the afternoon...about 5:00 as I was heading out to dinner in Bloomington, Indiana, I saw another monarch flying south.
