Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 08/31/2014

Number: 12

It looks like the peak of Monarch migration here was a few days ago. I now see just one or two an hour, while I could see a dozen in a few minutes four days ago.
They nectar on the flowers in our planted prairie. Meadow Blazingstar is their favorite flower; its bloom time corresponds better to Monarch migration than other Liatris. Monarchs also like our Joe-Pyeweed.
