Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/04/2014

Number: 3

Observed only our three adult females today. Wanted to note how early they start arriving for a quick sip. I bring in the feeders each night, it is cooler evenings, also the raccoons seem to visit our deck at night and drain each feeder. So each morning I try to get up just before sunrise to be ahead of the Ruby Throat's visit to our feeders. This morning I was running a little late and got the feeders out by 606am. As soon as I got in to the house, our number one Female made her visit(photo) and would sip a bit, pause for awhile then sip some more. She is the one which seems to control the feeders and was the first to arrive in the spring.
