Ever since we bought our acreage 19 years ago we have had monarchs roost in our yard in the fall. Some years there are more than other years. You can see alfalfa blooming in the background. This fall they have been showing up since about Sept 1st. Finally on the 4th decided to go shake a few branches to see how many were here, and to my delight found hundreds roosting in the trees.
