On a sunset walk through an alfalfa field as we approached the surrounding woods (large old oak trees), we looked up and saw a small swarm of monarchs seeming to roost on the trees. They seemed to us to be pairing off and flying high above the field and into the large oak trees. These were the first monarchs we saw this year.
