Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/07/2014

Number: 1

Spotted at 11:22 today, the first monarch seen around here by anyone in my family. My sister just phoned me from the side of the road, where she saw a monarch flying "up and down," making its way east. This monarch was spotted along a suburban main street, near a large nature reserve. My family finds this very exciting, as we used to see monarchs all the time (years ago) and now seldom do. We spent two weeks in August in Wells, Maine this summer but saw no monarchs there, either. We thought the year would pass without spotting one! But yesterday we saw one on a golf course in Rawdon, 60 miles northeast of our area (Montreal, QC, Canada), and today - this beauty! We are thrilled!
