Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/06/2014

Number: 20

It was a beautiful autumn day with temperatures in the mid-70s, slight breeze, sunny skies. We saw at least 20 monarchs, among many other species of butterflies, at the Waterloo-Mud Lake Wildlife Area. The butterflies had many nectar sources to choose from, but most of them seemed to prefer Thistle flowers.
