Sometimes it's like being in a Disney animation around here. At dusk, there were Monarchs flying all around, racing past my head, circling around each other - I could hear their wings. I gave up trying to take pictures and videos and just walked around and enjoyed it. They came in from the field and grouped up in various trees - love how their wings start flapping like little flames as new ones come into the group, then go suddenly still, then they would all fly out from that tree and fly around to another group and and another tree. Takes awhile to get settled I guess. They were forming roosts in two groves again. I'm estimating at least 400. It was very windy when I got up this morning (Monday 9/8) and I found several groups of them on the north side of our near grove still. Didn't get a chance to look for the others in the further out grove.
