Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/06/2014

Number: 1000

While conducting the Rosetta McClain Gardens (RMG) Hawk Watch on Saturday (9/6) we watched as Monarch after Monarch flew over the park on migration. They were everywhere! Between the hours of 11:00AM and 5:30PM my best guess would be that we saw somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1000! Oh, happy day!

Entry to this small 9.3 hectare park is off of Kingston Road where it intersects with Glen Everest Road, approximately 1 km east of the Kingston Road/Birchmount Road intersection.
