Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/09/2014

Number: 14

We had over 30 total larvae at two different milkweed mini gardens. At one spot, they all left to form chrysalises. That was yesterday. At our other spot there is still 14 or so left, and several have already journeyed off over the past few days. Two of the chrysalises were formed on our soffit and a green anole lizard got one of them right before my eyes. Here is a photo of that.

We also had two monarch butterflies here this am flirting around. One was a male for sure. Did not see them on milkweed only nectaring on Jatropha.
