We saw a migrating male RT at 10:39 am. It was cloudy, breezy and 71 degrees. The last time we saw a male was on September 3rd. This one decided to stick around for the day vying for the same feeder that a female RT has had her sights on now for a few days. She reluctantly shared it with him. It was fun watching them as they would both perch in the same maple tree. I finally got a picture of him perched watching over the feeder. It was difficult because the breeze was really moving the leaves and limbs. I wondered where his summer home was up North and if someone was missing him. I know I still miss my resident male. So....GodSpeed to all the hummers heading south. May you encounter friendly respites with sweet fresh nectar on your journeys.
