Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 09/10/2014

Number: 1

This is a new monarch that fell prey to the praying mantis. By the time I found it was to late to save it. It was in perfect condition but just not quick enough to escape the praying mantis. I thought it might be the one saw yesterday with the bent wing but it was not.

For those of you who do not know the praying mantis is also a predator of humming birds.
