Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/08/2014

Number: 36

I have seen many more Monarchs over the past two weeks than I saw during the entire summer of 2013. There are usually 3 to 6 nectarine on phlox, Joe Pye weed, zinnias, and asters. But the best news of all is that I am getting a few roosting in my small woods. Last night, (9/9) I estimate about 3 dozen. The night before, (9/8) there was a similar number. I’m hoping numbers will increase over the next week. It’s just good to see them at all after last year.
