Spotted a male monarch in a field of young milkweed. He was nectaring on nearby flowers. It was a chilly evening and when I stretched out my hand he actually climbed on my hand. I walked to my car while he continued to perch on my hand. I placed him in a cage in the car, let him stay in my warm house, and released him the next day with my class. They named him Florida because he obviously did not like the cool mountain air from the previous evening.
