Chilly in the habitat this morning--overcast, 50 degrees with winds NW at 12 mph little girls and juvies are busy in flowers, and perching on the small tree branches attached to the Shepard hooks. In addition to nectar they are enjoying Black and Blue Salvia, Purple Prince Zinnias, Pink Turtle Heads, Pink Obedience Plants, Geraniums, Dicentria Scandens (yellow bleeding heart vine) Royal Catchfly, Agastache, Cleome--pink, white, and violet, Blue Lobelia, and Rose of Sharon. "Our Boys" left August 31st. There are reg flags flying from 8 foot poles, on a hill for migrating guests--to let them know of our hospitality--if they are flying over. In 2013 our "last hummer" was seen Sept. 26th--so hopefully we will have the opportunity to continue our Hummingbird Bed and Breakfast hospitality for a few more weeks.
