We have anywhere from one to seven hummingbirds in our yard most of the time, with two or three being the usual number. We see males, females, and immature birds (noticeable because they have less agility in flight and occasionally ask their moms for food by opening their beaks). Rarely do we see more than one bird on a feeder at a time. Usually they chase each other around or settle at different feeders.
