I had a monarch (can't say whether male or female) hatch this a.m. in the box where it pupated several weeks ago. It was a cold morning (the box was indoors) and I waited until the sun was strong before I took it outside and placed it on a lilac leaf. It sat there for a long time, but when I went to check on it this aft. it was gone. I just hope it can get south and out of this cold spell we're having.
