Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/13/2014

Number: 12

We still have about 12 ruby-throats. We have noticed that some have gone on, and then we seem to be getting new ones that are migrating through on their journey. We have about seven little hummers who have "staked out" a swing, perch, or are sitting in trees or on top of shepherd hoods defending "their" feeder. I saw one adult male this morning, and the rest are females and juveniles. We have really enjoyed watching them. Most of their perches are located just off our back patio, and our presence there does not scare them unless we move around more. We have had a wonderful hummingbird season this summer--best in years!!!
