Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 09/13/2014

Number: 120

Cold front hit this morning (9/13) - had an early frost. Found 17 monarchs roosting (that presumably arrived last night) about 50 feet up in our old red pine. Took a photo with the waning gibbous phase moon descending behind them. Found 120+ monarchs in the mid afternoon (9/13)! - already clumping together in our north grove trying to stay out of our strong/chilly SW wind.
