The frequency of hummingbirds at our feeders has greatly decreased during the past week and we have not seen any males in close to 2 weeks. Some of the hummers that stop by seem to be unfamiliar with feeders, trying unsuccessfully to get sugar water, then going to the flowers near our feeders. We occasionally see 2 hummers flying together, but most sightings now are single birds. We have only put out 1 new cup of sugar water in the past 2 days and have 6 small feeders, as compared to making 3 cups daily during July & August.
