This was an Adult Female Monarch#5 raised by me from a Monarch Egg found 8/12/14, Monarch hatch date 9/10/14, and released 9/13/14 in the Moline Garden Club Flower Garden for Immediate food source.
Note: This is my Super Monarch to date, she was huge and survived 3.5 days after hatching before release date. Held after hatching due to extreme cold and rainy Weather near freezing at night. She was hard to feed at first and day #2 was tough but after feeding Honey/H2O Solution she recovered well by day #2 end. Release day #3 9/13/14 at 54 degrees temperature but beautiful Sunny Clear day (Temp in Sun 70 Degrees) When released she headed directly to the nearest 30 ft away large red flower and started feeding, she continued feeding on various other flowers for at least an hour. Temperature that night after release approx. 36 degrees.
