We have feeders out every year since 1998. For the last 10 years during migration I have very heavy traffic at 7 feeders. Feeders hold a total of 1 1/2gal. liquid. Food is made with boiled water and feeders are washed daily. The only way we can estimate the number of birds is at times all 73 feeding spots are taken with a few brave birds sneeking drinks from the sides of feeding birds. Some tired of waiting will dive at the others hitting them in the back or head, to get a spot. At the same time the branches we have afixed close to the feeders hold 30 to 50 sitting birds. 100..200?
