I have had two hummers feeding on my two feeders regularly for a little over a week. They have been buzzing each other as they are guarding their precious nectar. I was thrilled with these sightings since we hadn't had any activity since early spring. I am surprised they are lingering so long as we've had chillingly cold temperatures this past week ( in the low 40's at night-50's during the day). Right now the ratio I'm using is 2 parts water to 1 part sugar. Should I be increasing the ratio to help these little guys bulk up for the long flight south??
