Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/14/2014

Number: 4

While walking around Monhegan Island off the coast of Maine,a preserved area and with homes with beautiful flower gardens, I spotted 4 distinct Monarchs. The first was large and was generally headed to the south with very brief feeding stops. The next was considerably smaller and made sustained feeding stops on multiple flowers on one plant before moving to another plant. The last 2 were large and in different locations on the island and behaved much like the second with prolonged feeding.
