Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/15/2014

Number: 14

This morning's hummer activity, though brisk and active, shows the possibility some of my last few days swarming mass of hummers may have departed. After cleaning and refilling feeders with room temperature mixture I observed 14 hummers on the 4 multi slot feeders and two non-perch feeders all at one time. It appears to be 4 adult females and 10 female juveniles. Night time temperatures held in the mid 40's much as it has for the last couple of days. Expected high today of 62 degrees and currently light rain with predictions of 80% for most of the day. Currently it's 51 degrees and finds a continual group of 8-10 hummers buzzing about back and forth between feeders and the blooming Rose-of-Sharons.
