Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/16/2014

Number: 180

I counted 180 monarchs in ten minutes along the Western shore of Lake Michigan on the Concordia University Wisconsin campus. Wind was from the NW @ 4mph gusting to 10mph. Temp 62 degrees F. Later the wind shifted to the Southeast and the numbers dropped to 18/10 minutes of observation. This is the largest count we have had in several years!
