I was at National Zoo (where I'd been inspecting this one clump of white butterfly bushes for monarchs for about two months) when I found this beautiful butterfly (am attaching my nicest photo). I can't tell if it's male or female as it didn't open its wings except when flying, but it was in excellent condition and was just the loveliest of subjects...was SO happy!!
