Along the main trail to the tip they started gathering around 6:45PM. We kept finding roost after roost; with so many fluttering about it was impossible to count. It seemed as if they were just falling out of the sky. I counted at least 5 roosts. The branches were just dripping with monarchs It was difficult to count, as this is a National Park and we had to stay on the trails. WHAT A WONDROUS SIGHT. My 8 year old son and I have been going periodically for a couple of years hoping for this! When I saw the numbers over the past few days in the Toronto area northeast of us and with the sunny, 18C low wind conditions and seeing a few about in our yard I called the park and they indicated that they were seeing some flying through all day; I thought we might get lucky and we did!
